Works well but a bit slow on slides, and it sometimes produced negatives instead of positives. Plenty of information and well presented.
I have only used a scanner at work and it was okay but then I needed a scanner for some documents. I decided on availabilty and resolution quality. I had also decided to scan some old photographs for sending electronically to friends. The cost alone of reprinting the photographs would be twice the price of the Canon4400. I can not compare with other devices as I say I only have used one other but this machine and software were so much easier to get on with. The photograph quality is beyond expectations. The document flexability is good for e-mailing and the pdf auto is the best. multiple pages or whatever can be acheived ....just what I wanted and I am a computer novice. Within 2 hours I could do everything I wanted and more. I have not tried the slide coping facility but I am sure it will be good. The "z" lid hinges are well made and the only worry is the sound of the latch when you first use it....I thought I had broken it but all was well and good for coping pages from bound documents. I need a faster computer to cope with the excellance of this machine. Oh and it looks nice in silver.
