Description
With a native transfer rate of 20-40MB/sec and native capacity of 200GB (40-80MB/Sec and 400GB compressed), Maxell LTO Ultrium 2 is only the second generation of a migration path which extends to native capacities of 800GB. LTO Ultrium technology is backward compatible with earlier generations, allowing end-users continued access to Ultrium 1 tape archives and providing investment security for years to come. The Maxell LTO Ultrium 2 data cartridge is capable of being used in all generation 2 Ultrium drives.
Maxell Ultrium 2 cartridges also incorporate a built-in cartridge memory, allowing storage of historical usage records and other information and PEN base film, allowing for superior dimensional stability, both of which are unique to the LTO Ultrium format. The compliance verification process involves each licencee's media undergoing an exhaustive series of tests that cover interchange compatibility with other drives and media. This allows end-users of Maxell Ultrium products to be 100% confident of compatibility and interchangeability between Maxell Ultrium media and all brands of Ultrium drives and media.
