Case Studies

We have a great range of products and services with experienced engineers deploying them, and that is why so many businesses choose to trust in Equanet. Whether it’s installing a handful of PCs or configuring a new server, we have the resources and knowledge to take on any size of project. Below you’ll find examples of cutomers we have helped – details of their specific challenge, how we helped to solve it and how they’ve benefited.

  • BAE Systems -- They needed a highly specialised critical component, we worked throughout the day and night contacting suppliers all over the world, and made sure they received the part within plenty of time.
  • Isle of Anglesey County Council -- Struggling to communicate on dial up lines between public buildings, we implemented a RF and point-of-sight infrastructure. The project won several awards and there have been no infrastructure issues.
  • Lancashire & South Cumbria Agency (NHS) -- They needed a server with better responsiveness to support software, we realised they wouldn't have the time to build it, so we built, tested and shipped it ready to plug in.
  • Longslade Community College -- The Media Studies course needed a creative media suite, we designed a system over the half term break with 30 Macs and licenses, with enough scope for expansion over the next three years.
  • A major Public Sector organisation -- They wanted to renew 1100 terminals over 12 months, but the manufacturer couldn't specify it would remain in production. We bought terminals, printers, scanners and network cards, and deployed them within their time scale.
  • Middlesex University -- The School of Arts needed a specialised processing suite. We built 47 Mac Pros with additional features and devices. They have since had higher student enrolment - attributed to the improved facilities.
  • Newbury Weekly News -- They had purchased a server two months earlier, but hadn't had the time to install it. We sent an engineer to configure it, migrate data over and remove the old one in an afternoon.
  • NXP Semiconductors -- Having spun off from its parent company, their Network Manager was spending time away from the office. We supplied an engineer two days a week for six months - extended to 12 months.
  • Rugby Borough Council -- With data distributed between many servers, it was difficult to backup and the email was susceptible to hardware failure. We designed a SAN and tape backup, and migrated their email users overnight.
  • St Bridget's RP Primary School - Mobile Computing -- The school sourced the funding for a UMPC for every child, and our HomeWorks team provided 30 Samsung Q1 tablets with warranties, insurance, keyboards, carry cases and other accessories.
  • Stoke on Trent College -- The college needed repairs of 91 laptops quicker and cheaper than the manufacturer's warranty could provide, we worked with our partners to produce a bespoke contract that fell within budget.
  • Thales -- Thales needed an IT partner to complement their existing eProcurement suppliers, we designed a punchout catalogue with preferential pricing and Thales are now of our most significant eProcurement customers.
  • The Carlyle Group
  • The Money Centre -- With over 70 inkjet printers, they were wasting money on upkeep. We ran a print audit and installed 10 multifunctional devices, allowing printing to be done in-house and saving £45,000 a year.
