The School of Arts needed a specialised processing suite. We built 47 Mac Pros with additional features and devices. They have since had higher student enrolment – attributed to the improved facilities.

Challenge

The School of Arts needed a cutting edge processing suite for their Photographic Design course, but found that their requirements for advice, consultancy and highly specialised hardware went beyond the scope of most organisations they dealt with.

Solution

Our configuration centre worked to the brief supplied by The School and built 47 Mac Pros with extra drives, extra memory and other additional hardware installed. We also provided their licensing agreements, supplied high-end printers, specialist scanners from Hasselblad, a Proof Station from Challenge, Apple Cinema displays, Wacom tablet, an X-Serve and a very long list of less esoteric equipment.

Outcome

When issues arose, they were managed before they became problems and the suite was delivered on time. The resulting 100 student enrolment, a rise of 40% over the previous year has been attributed to the vastly improved facility, as is the success of the recently launched and fully booked Summer Courses for enthusiasts.
